Dubai, UAE – Al Maryah Community Bank (Mbank), a leading digital bank in the United Arab Emirates, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the American University in the Emirates (AUE) to launch a series of academic and executive development programs aimed at university students. This strategic partnership aligns with the government of Dubai’s vision to strengthen cooperation with educational institutions, empowering UAE government employees and students to achieve academic excellence, develop professional skills, and enhance competencies essential for improving workplace performance.
Under this partnership, Mbank will offer AUE’s undergraduates and graduates the opportunity to enroll in tailored academic and executive development programs designed to meet the demands of Dubai’s evolving economy and benefit the broader UAE community. The collaboration also includes internships, job placements, and participation in consultancy projects and joint research initiatives, providing students with practical experience and enhancing their employability.
In return, the American University in the Emirates will extend partial scholarships and tuition fee discounts to Mbank employees who wish to pursue postgraduate studies, provided they meet the university’s admission requirements and maintain the necessary academic standards.
Prof. Muthanna G. Abdul Razzaq, President and CEO of AUE, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, stating: “At the American University in the Emirates, we are thrilled to partner with Mbank. This collaboration underscores our commitment to offering our students exceptional educational experiences that extend beyond the classroom. By integrating our students into the innovative ecosystem of Mbank, we are not only enhancing their academic journey but also preparing them to excel in the dynamic fintech sector. Our students will gain invaluable hands-on experience, bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application. We look forward to seeing our students thrive as future leaders, equipped with the skills and opportunities to drive progress and innovation in the fintech industry.”
Mohammed Wassim Khayata, Chief Executive Officer of Mbank, shared similar sentiments: “We are excited to embark on this journey with AUE, one of the UAE’s preferred educational institutions. Our collaboration offers comprehensive and innovative learning experiences that will strengthen students’ preparedness for their future careers. By incorporating undergraduates into the Mbank ecosystem, we provide them with the opportunity to serve internships and begin their professional journeys at the UAE’s most innovative leading digital bank.”
