Algerian edtech LabLabee Secures $3.4 Million in Seed Funding Round

Algiers, Algeria LabLabee, an innovative Algerian edtech startup, has successfully raised $3.4 million in seed funding to drive the adoption of 5G, cloud, and AI technologies across the telecommunications and industrial sectors. The funding round was led by Reach Capital, with significant participation from Classera and existing investors Brighteye Ventures and e& capital. The round also attracted notable business angels such as Cedric Sellin and Mohammed Husamaddin.

Founded in 2021 by Samir Tahraoui and Mahfoud Sidi Ali Mebarek, LabLabee provides hands-on, practical learning experiences designed to equip professionals with skills in cutting-edge network technologies. The platform is designed to address the skills gap in cloud-native technologies within the telecom industry, offering affordable, on-demand labs that cover advanced topics such as 5G, IMS, and Kubernetes.

With this new funding, LabLabee aims to expand its leadership in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region while exploring opportunities to enter the US market. The company plans to establish strategic partnerships with major cloud providers, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), to further extend its reach and capabilities.

As part of its growth strategy, LabLabee will broaden its educational offerings by introducing new hands-on training labs for VMware, Redhat, and Windriver. The startup is also focused on enhancing its immersive learning environment, which includes sandbox features that allow users to learn, practice, and test in a real-world setting—all within a single platform. These efforts are aimed at improving the user experience and providing professionals with practical skills in rapidly evolving sectors.

To further support its expansion and better serve its growing customer base, LabLabee plans to increase its international workforce, with new hires in engineering, sales, and customer support. The company collaborates with telecom operators, vendors, and educational institutions to integrate practical exercises into training programs, helping to reduce costs while enhancing skill development.

In addition to its expansion plans, LabLabee is poised to enrich its course catalogue with topics relevant to the Fourth Industrial Revolution, including telco security, AI applications in telecommunications, and edge computing.

Esteban Sosnik, co-founder of Reach Capital, praised LabLabee for its innovative approach to addressing skill shortages in the telecom sector. He also commended the founders for their deep technical expertise and industry insights, which have been pivotal in the company’s rapid growth.
